Winston had no contact with port before rail link election promise

Winston Peters didn't discuss any details with Northport's leadership before declaring he would build a new rail link.

Northport chief executive Jon Moore says he has had no contact with Winston Peters about his proposed rail link at the Marsden Point port.

Mr Moore tells NBR that Mr Peters didn’t even visit the port, let alone discuss the business strategy or growth plans, before he told media about his rail link
