Have you ever hailed a cab and been greeted by a female driver?

The odds are unlikely because women make up less than 10% of taxi drivers, says Taxi Federation executive director Roger Heale.

Just under 6000 Kiwis were employed as taxi drivers in 2014 so, by Mr Heale’s estimations, fewer than 600
