WHO elevates Zika virus outbreak to global emergency

Health Minister confirms 10 cases in New Zealand affecting travellers to the South Pacific.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared the Zika virus outbreak a “Public Health Emergency of International Concern” (PHEIC) but  does not recommend restrictions on travel or trade.
