Wellington mayor doesn't want to end up in same housing situation as Auckland

Wellington’s mayor Justin Lester wants to introduce measures including punitive taxes to tackle land banking in the capital.

Mr Lester says the new measures will also encourage more social housing, new homes on council land and more competition in greenfields land.
