If Abano Healthcare’s $35 million rights issue was a ploy to force its dissident major shareholder to sell its stake, it worked.

Late on Wednesday, Healthcare Partners sold its 19% stake in Abano for a total of $36.7 million.

It sold its 4.08 million shares at $8.85 per share, a 6.3% discount
