Wine writer Michael Cooper tasted more than 3000 New Zealand wines for the latest and 25th edition of his buyer's guide.

But one wine escaped his net, a one-off 2014 Gisborne Chardonnay, Le Pont, from Bridge Estate and Poverty Bay Wine Estates at Matawhero.
