US private equity firm eyes large South Island dairy block

KKR nears deal as Harvard sheds global assets.

Global private equity giant KKR is understood to be negotiating a deal to buy about 3440ha of dairy land in Central Otago for almost $100 million.

The farms have been put up for sale by Harvard University, which is also selling land in New South Wales, the Wall Street Journal reports.
