Dairy industry commentators say they are surprised and disappointed by Fonterra’s [NZX: FCG] announcement this morning that it has reduced its forecast farmgate milk price from $4.70 a kg/MS to $4.50 a kg/MS for this season.
Fonterra’s farmgate drop amounts to a forecast cash payout of $4.70-4.80
