Last week must have been a trying one for Associate Judge Roger Bell.

On Monday, notorious developer Ee Kuoh (Augustine) Lau came before him in court. He owed Auckland Council almost $1 million and it wanted him bankrupted.   

The judge could have declared him insolvent –had Lau not claimed
