It turns out you can solve the problem of minimal inflation – if, that is, you think this is a problem.
You simply hike taxes.
That is one, admittedly simplistic and indeed wrong, interpretation of the latest consumer prices index data, released this morning.
Quarterly price inflation is up 0.2%
