Spark says Chorus should pick up $12m ComCom tab

Telcos spar over who should pick up the cost for the Commerce Commission's expanded role after 2020.

The Commerce Commission estimates it will face $12 million in extra costs in the three years from 2020 when an overhaul of the Telecommunications Act is due to come into force.

The legislation will see wholesale broadband provider Chorus regulated like a utility, with more freedom to set pricing
