Silver Fern Farms to invest in new venison plant

The company will build a new $5 million state-of-the art vension plant at its Pareoara site.

Silver Fern Farms' plans to close its venison plant on the outskirts of Christchurch is unrelated to the health of the venison sector, according to chief executive Dean Hamilton.

He told NBR the closure was solely an operational issue.
