Rural businesses feel the bite of dairy downturn

Rippling economic effects internationally coupled with the fall in dairy prices put pressure on NZ farmers.

New Zealand’s rural business community has already felt the bite of a “significant slowdown” in the agriculture sector.

The latest figures from MYOB’s business monitor survey suggest just 18% of rurally-based SME operators have seen revenue rise in the past year.

This is compared to 31% of SMEs
