Orcon's ignorance unacceptable — Privacy Commissioner as tribunal awards soldier $25K damages

ISP pays high price for not following privacy rules.

The Human Rights Tribunal has ordered Orcon to pay a soldier $25,000 for a Privacy Act breach.

Orcon (part of the CallPlus Group) set Baycorp on to Brett Taylor, alleging he owned it $208.52. 

Mr Taylor said this had an immediate impact on his credit rating, making it difficult to find rental
