Nelson continues to streak ahead in latest regional economic scoreboard

Nelson consumers have boosted their spending by 16% while car sales rising at 13% up is the third-highest nationally.

Top of the South Island regions Nelson and neighbouring Tasman hold the first two places in the ASB/Main Report Regional Economic Scoreboard for the June quarter.

A strong retailing performance has kept Nelson into top place for the third quarter in a row.
