NASA researcher favours progressive risk-based safety system for drones

Nasa researchers are edging closer to a system integrating drones into national airspace, NZ regulators keep watch

NASA researcher Dr Parimal Kopardekar favours a progressive approach to drone regulation, based on risks on the ground.

“Whale watching by drones risk is different to doing drone deliveries in urban areas,” he said.
