EQC says 3800 cheques written out to Canterbury earthquake claimants worth more than $20 million are yet to be cashed.

Overall, EQC has paid out more than $4.8 billion in cash settlement to Canterbury earthquake customers.

The total amount paid out is about $8 billion including payments
