Alternatives for reining in Auckland Council spending to keep rates low will be discussed at a public meeting this week. 

Aucklanders Ray Calver and Dick Cuthbert, a long-time protester, have organised the meeting to give ratepayers a chance to vent their frustration over a 9.9% average rates
