Yesterday’s shocking contraction of economic growth in Australia sent the kiwi dollar soaring against the Australian currency.

GDP growth fell by -0.5% on the quarterly measure, pulling it down to 1.8% year-on-year – the first time economic growth has slipped below 2% since the 2008 global
