Outdoor equipment retailer Kathmandu [NZX: KMD] has produced a first-half profit after a period of struggle and restructure, but the proof in the pudding will come at the end of the year.  

The company’s profit was $9.4 million in the six months to January 31, up from a loss of $1.8 million a year
