Inflation deflated

Everything points to the Reserve Bank waiting for longer before lifting the official cash rate (OCR), which is at 1.75%.

Looking at it on a quarterly basis, the latest inflation data is “flat,” to use the term favoured by economists and Statistics New Zealand.

In fact, it is slightly negative – at 0.1% – for the three months to June.
