Hotel valuations to be revamped and likely to drop on Goff's 'pillow tax'

Auckland’s top valuers are gathering next week to work out how to value hotels in the light of Mayor Phil Goff’s ‘pillow tax’ being forced on hotels and motels.

The targeted rate on 330 motels and hotels was passed by a 10-7 vote at the council’s governing body last week and kicks in on July 1
