Honey labels are currently not permitted to make any health claims.
A honey producer’s claim its Manuka Doctor and Manuka Pharm brands do not imply any health benefits has come unstuck in the High Court.
In September, Honey New Zealand International sought a declaration before Justice Simon France on whether two of its trademarks amounted to health claims.
