Bankrupt Christchurch businessman Dave Henderson has escaped a jail sentence after being found guilty of failing to pay PAYE.

Former Christchurch mayors Sir Bob Parker and Garry Moore both gave references for Mr Henderson's vision, energy, and hard work, and revitalisation of central Christchurch
