Australian dairy co-operative Murray Goulburn has slashed its milk price to farmers and lost its top two executives after a major misjudgment of expected sales in China.

Units in the ASX-listed MG unit trust, which pays dividends based on the co-op’s milk price, plunged 34% after a trading halt,
