Don't legislate Paris climate change commitments

Opinion: The COP21 climate change agreement is unlikely to be the final stage and political support is uncertain for costs that have no obvious benefit.

The retiring Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment, Jan Wright, has suggested New Zealand should lock down its commitments to the Paris Agreement on Climate Change (COP21). Legislation on greenhouse gas emissions would be a mistake for three reasons:
