Dairy debt to top $40 billion this season – Treasury

But it says prices will recover in mid-2018.

Dairy debt is likely to exceed $40 billion by the end of this season as farmers take on more debt to cover negative cashflow, the Treasury has revealed.

The latest data from the Treasury’s outlook for dairy paints a grim picture for the sector in the 2016/17 season.
