Cold water poured on yet more calls for higher tourist tax

LGNZ is keen for the tax but Tourism Industry Aotearoa has dismissed the idea.

Local Government New Zealand (LGNZ) is siding with Labour and the Greens in calling for a tax on tourists.

But Minister of Tourism Paula Bennett has again dismissed the idea after questions in the House from Green Party co-leader James Shaw.
