Liquor giant Lion is gambling there is a market for bottle-quality and award-winning wines in casks.

It is testing the market with its Saints brand, whose manager Kate Fisken says the 2012 Sauvignon Blanc recently gained a gold medal at the New World Wine Awards. Entries for these awards
