Carry on: Chinese mega-cities seek direct air links to NZ

The tourism industry is aiming for one million visitors from China within the next few years.

At least two new destinations in China could be opened up to direct flights from New Zealand by the end of the year, industry sources say.

Two Chinese airlines, Sichuan and Hainan, are interested in flights from Shenzhen in southern China and the inland city of Chongqing, respectively.
