A bidding war has broken out across the Tasman for Australia's third largest ISP – and one that has been in hot water over piracy.

M2 Group [ASX:MTU], which recently bought CallPlus for $250 million, has placed a cash-and-shares bid of $A1.85 billion for iiNet, trumping a $1.5 billion cash offer
