The photograph of Alan Kurdi, the three-year-old Syrian boy lying dead on the beach in Bodrum, will rightly win a Pulitzer Prize. It touched the world in a way the drowning of 400 African refugees between Libya and Italy back on April 14 did not, nor the further 700 who drowned the following week.
