Banks’ lawyer says not enough evidence to prosecute; Boag handled return

John Banks’ lawyer today argued at the High Court to throw out charges that allege Mr Banks knowingly signed a false electoral return after a failed Auckland mayoral bid in 2010.

David Jones, QC, applied for Mr Banks to be discharged under section 347 of the Crimes Act 1961 on the grounds
