Auckland housing consents continue to fall short

Auckland needs 11,000 new houses a year for a decade.

There still aren’t enough housing consents being issued in Auckland to keep up with housing demand.

Figures released on Monday showed there were 792 consents to build new houses issued in Auckland in October, up from 752 in September but down from the 970 issued in August and 1087 in July.
