Disputed web addresses handed over.

Yellow Pages Group and rival startup Localist, backed by NZ Post, have reached a settlement over Yellow’s use of web domain names relating to the latter.

The news comes hot on the heels of the resignation of Yellow managing director and chief executive Bruce Cotterill.

Yellow has agreed to transfer ownership of the contested domain names – which included the word “localist” in various forms – to its competitor.

In turn, Localist has dropped the Hight Court legal action it brought against Yellow earlier this week.

No public comment can be made by either party as terms of the settlement.
