Winston Peters does an Ed Balls
UPDATE! Ed Balls replies.
No, it's not the story of the year, but just a quick note that Winston Peters is only human, and prone to a little ego-surfing (searching for your own name).
This morning, the NZ First leader typed "Tweets on Winston Peters NZ politician" as a public post on the social network — when presumably he meant to type it into search.
The same blunder was made by UK shadow chancellor Ed Balls on April 29, 2011.
Ever since, British internet users have celebrated the anniversary of that date as "Ed Balls Day" by posting the Labour politician's name to Twitter.
In a very metacontextual internet moment, Ed Balls himself retweeted Mr Peter's post, adding the comment (but of course) "Ed Balls).
