In January, Warwick Grey (pictured) left HP NZ to take up a transtman marketing role based out of the company's Sydney office.
Now he's coming home, and re-joining Renaissance, the company he co-founded with his brother Trevor in 1989.
Mr Grey has been appointed Renaissance chief marketing officer, starting August 23.
The Grey brothers grew the company from three employees to 30 and six years later sold the company to pursue other business interests. (The company now has around 300 staff, including those working for recent acquisitions NatColl and Magnum Mac).
Warwick Grey has previously worked for Microsoft New Zealand as marketing manager for the small and medium business group, and owned and managed several of his own publishing companies.
A second new appointee, Chris Knox, will take charge of Renaissance's revamped networking and security division.
Mr Knox was responsible for the commercial launch of Telecom's original DSL broadband service, JetStream.
The new appointments were announced by Renaissance chief executive Richard Webb.
Long-time Renaissance head Paul Johnston left the company over Christmas to found Simms International NZ, which is currently setting up a retailer network for erstwhile direct sales specialist Dell.
Grey power
Renaissance shares (NZX: RNS) were up 11.11% to 30 cents in midday trading, close to the company's 52-week high.
