Vista Entertainment Solutions [NZX: VGL], a subsidiary of NZX-listed Vista Group International, has signed a distribution agreement with software services provider Vinx Corp to sell its cinema management software in the Japanese market for the first time.

The Auckland-based company's technology is used to manage cinema operations in more than 60 countries and it raised $92 million in an initial public offering a year ago. Its share price slipped 0.7% to $6 today but have soared from its $2.35 offer price last year.

Vinx will introduce VES's core cinema management software to cinema exhibitors as early as this month though the first customers are not expected to eventuate until next year, the company said in a statement.

Osaka-based Vinx is focused on supermarket and convenience store clients including the design and development of point of sale systems that have an indirect relationship to Vista's core cinema management software expertise. Some Vinx clients have also invested in cinema exhibition including Aeon, the largest Japanese cinema chain.
