This is a supplied media release.

After almost 20 years at UBS holding a range of senior positions in the bank, Nicholas Ross has decided to step back from day to day management as country head but will remain with the New Zealand business. Mr Ross will retain some local coverage responsibilities and will support specific origination and key relationship coverage activities across our CCS and Equities businesses in New Zealand. He will continue to sit on the local management committee.

We would like to acknowledge Mr Ross's outstanding contribution to the firm over many years and his efforts in building our CCS franchise in NZ in recent years, culminating in No1 positions for ECM, M&A and DCM in 2016, which was recognised by Euroweek as its premiere NZ award for the first time.

We are pleased to announce that Chris Simcock will assume the role of country Head for UBS NZ with immediate effect. Mr Simcock will assume responsibility for the strategic direction and financial performance of the NZ business. He has been with UBS for seven years and currently heads our leading New Zealand CCS business, a position he will retain.

David Lane will continue his role as head of NZ equities and managing principal for the New Zealand Stock Exchange (NZX) and Marcus Curley as head of NZ equity research.
