TelstraClear has added its stable of corporate clients ahead of its pending acquisition by Vodafone.
ACC is moving its fixed voice and TollFree services to TelstraClear, the company says.
The TelstraClear contract was effective from 2 April 2012, with the Aussie-owned carrier displacing Telecom's Gen-i.
The three-year deal includes access to "advanced voice biometrics", the system that TelstraClear introduced for Inland Revenue last year, the company says.
ACC and TelstraClear refused to comment on the value of the contract.
TelstraClear’s government clients include New Zealand Customs, Inland Revenue, the Ministry for Primary Industries (previously MAF) and the Defence Force. The company is also telecommunications supplier to many of New Zealand’s largest enterprises, including the BNZ, Tower, Westfield, ASB, The Warehouse and Toll.
The Commerce Commission is due to make a decision on Vodafone's application for clearance to buy TelstraClear this Friday, July 27.
However, a spokewoman said it was likely due to the complexity of the deal that the regulator would seek an extension. A source close to the process told NBR approval could take anywhere from four to nine months.
