Summerset Group, the retirement village operator whose shares have gained 47% in the past 12 months, named Scott Scoullar as chief financial officer, filling a vacancy left by Julian Cook, who has been promoted to chief executive.
Mr Scoullar joins Summerset from Housing New Zealand, where he has been CFO since early 2012, after filling the same role at Inland Revenue. He won the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountant's public sector CFO of the year award in 2011, the company said.
Mr Cook will take over the CEO role when incumbent Norah Barlow retires in April next year, the company said.
The shares rose 0.6% to $3.25 on the NZX today.
