Sony has announced two Google-based Android tablets, the conventionally-styled S1 with a 9.4-inch screen (a shade smaller than the iPad's 9.7-inch) plus the more radical S2, whose folding design centres around two 5.5-inch screens.
Both models run on Android 3.0 - aka Honeycomb - the first version of Android to be created specifically with tablets in mind.
The bad news, for Sony fans - the company does not expect to ship the S1 or S2 for up to six months.
