Rail trail attraction lifts Otematata Hotel

The promise of the Alps to Ocean rail trail in Central Otago is being touted as an opportunity for a buyer of the Otematata Hotel. The ownership company was recently placed into receivership and Stephen Tubbs of BDO has commissioned Phil Cooper of Colliers to market the property.

It has a rating valuation of $1.1 million and is owned by Otematata Limited, whose shareholders are Graham Hare and Shiv Mattu. Mr Cooper says the expansive 80-room hotel lends itself to a change of configuration, possibly offering fishers and holidaymakers strata titles
