Just under a quarter of those within reach of fibre have now taken a retail plan.
The latest figures from Communications Minister Amy Adams show 44,000 businesses and households got connected to fibre in the three months to June 30 — a 22.4% increase over the prior quarter.
There are now 240,000 users connected to the UFB.
Phase one of the build, due to be completed at the end of 2019, is now 68.2% complete. Some areas have already finished. Others, such as Auckland (52%) and Wellington (50%) are noticeably lagging behind.
