Omnicom Media Group (OMG) has lured FCB Auckland planning director Simon Bird into its ranks to join PHD Group.
As group strategy director he will work with Gareth O’Connor and James Davidson to “deliver great strategic thinking across Spark PHD, PHDiQ and Spark PR & Activate.”
The appointment comes at a time when the group has made several changes to its senior management:
- Jane Stanley, PHD’s group strategy director and head of PHDiQ, has been appointed managing director of OMG’s search specialist unit Resolution Media and programmatic buying arm Accuen.
- Niki Thorne, managing OMG’s Data Science business unit, has been appointed Annalect managing director.
- Nikki Grafton, managing director of Spark PHD, keeps her role while taking on the role of managing director of PHDiQ.
OMG has been promoting these appointments as evidence of its commitment to the growth in search, programmatic buying and data as well as being in line with global structure.
Mr Bird starts in May.
