New Zealand’s leading statutory trust business, Perpetual Guardian, has made a senior project management appointment, naming Fiona Fourie Project Manager - Investment Services. Ms Fourie brings 30 years’ business development and financial services experience from senior roles with large financial entities in New Zealand and Australia.
Based in Christchurch, Ms Fourie is an expert in industry regulation and the areas of Managed Funds, Trusts, Wills and Estates through key roles with AMP, AXA and Tower. Ms Fourie joins the business to lead a project that will ensure Perpetual Guardian remains at the forefront of client service and maintains compliance with evolving industry regulations.
Ms Fourie says that after 20 years on the road, in sales and business development roles in the financial services industry, she decided to delve into the ever-changing world of regulation. “In the early 2000s there was a lot of noise about regulation, and I took a keen interest and moved into the field to expand my knowledge of current law and regulatory changes.
“I honed my compliance skills and knowledge through the creation of industry-leading advice-based templates for client advisors in my role at AMP, and further cemented my knowledge during a 13-month contract role with a Christchurch-based financial planning business during which I implemented a new system to ensure ease of compliance.”
Perpetual Guardian’s Director of Personal Client Services John McFetridge says of Ms Fourie’s appointment, “Fiona is a fantastic asset to our team and her expertise in industry regulation and compliance as well as her passion for best practice will enable us to continue to provide industry leading and efficient processes for both the business and our clients alike. Fiona is a highly regarded industry stalwart, and we are very pleased to welcome her on board for this key project.”
