Paris steps into Quin's shoes ... but Paris's shoes yet to be filled

Jason Paris appointment was flagged way back in January.
Jason Paris officially became Spark's [NZX: SPK] chief executive for home, mobile and business (HMB) today — effectively the number two job at the company.
His appointment was flagged way back in January, when the incumbent Chris Quin announced his intention to depart (he's off to become Foodstuffs chief executive; a role he'll pick up from September).
Perhaps curiously, given the six-month stretch since, Spark has yet to decide who will fill Mr Paris' previous role.
"No one is confirmed yet," a Spark spokewoman told NBR this morning.
Mr Paris, who came to Spark via top roles at TVNZ and MediaWorks, has been with the company for four years, most recently as general manager for HMB (yes, it does sound a teensy bit like Mr Quin's title). His key project in that role was the brand transition from Telecom to Spark. NBR wonders if, with that project dispatched, the position might be retired too.
