NZAM, an absolute returns global investment manager, is today pleased to announce Sir John Anderson as its new Chairman. Sir John had previously acted as an advisor to the Board.
Today’s announcement follows the recent appointment of Jonathan Mason as a non-executive director.
Sir John Anderson, as one of New Zealand’s most respected and trusted business leaders, is the Chairman of Steel and Tube Holdings Limited, NPT Limited, Deputy Chairman of T & G Global and a Director of Commonwealth Bank of Australia, APN News & Media Australia and NZIER.
NZAM Executive Director & Principal, Alan McChesney, says clients measure us not just on performance but the quality of our people and today’s announcement is a reflection of the emphasis we place on having a strong, independent Governance team.
“Sir John’s decision to join the Board is also an endorsement of the fact NZAM has been the best performing absolute returns investment manager in New Zealand over the last two decades.
“Our Chief Investment Officer, Greg Peacock, and I are currently visiting our team of investment managers in Asia, the United States and Europe. These trips are of significant importance to the way we observe and actively managing risk through investment cycles, such as the extraordinary levels of volatility we are seeing now,” he said.
Sir John’s appointment comes on the back of NZAM being granted a Discretionary Investment Market Services (“DIMS”) licence by the Financial Markets Authority, which took effect on 31 July 2015.
