Southbase Construction has appointed Nick Miller to its board.
Miller, who is currently retiring from the role of Managing Director of Fulton Hogan early next year, brings strong management and governance knowledge to this position, having had over 20 years’ experience in the infrastructure and construction sector.
John Holland, chairman of Southbase Construction, said that Miller is a well-recognised and respected leader in the business community and has led Fulton Hogan well during a strong growth phase both here and in Australia.
“Southbase was established three years ago and has already completed several major contracts in Christchurch, including Hagley Oval pavilion, the Bus Interchange and the Deloitte office building, to name a few.
“As we look at our next phase of growth, both in Christchurch and elsewhere, Nick’s experience at the helm of Fulton Hogan will be invaluable. We have a strong book with work continuing on the Crossing project in the centre of the city, have just started on the new Central Library project and are about to turn the first sod on the new Christchurch Boys’ High School project,” John Holland said.
As well as his Fulton Hogan positions, Miller has also been on the Board of the Australian Constructors Association, is a formerchairman the Roading NZ Industry Association Board, a former Chief Executive of Isaac Construction, a Fellow of IPENZ and a director of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. His qualifications include a BE (Hons) in Civil Engineering from Canterbury University and a New Zealand Certificate of Engineering.
“Nick has excellent commercial skills, is committed to the future of Christchurch and will be a great asset to Southbase in the future. We have also appointed Nicki Carter and Brett Gamble to the board as well,” John Holland said.
