Hot on the heels of an impressive year for Volvo cars in New Zealand, local distributor Motorcorp New Zealand announced the appointment of a new national manager shortly before Christmas.

Coby Duggan, who has worked in senior roles with Mercedes-Benz, Skoda and most recently Lexus, will be responsible for overseeing Volvo’s strategic growth in the local market.

Motorcorp’s General Manager Steve Kenchington says the appointment of Duggan comes at an exciting time in the brand’s local development.

“Within the next three years Volvo will release another 10 new models into this market. We are pleased to have Coby’s expertise as the brand further increases its market share in New Zealand,” he said.

Duggan says he’s excited to be working with Volvo as it enjoys a period of unprecedented success in the New Zealand market, with 2015 producing the brand’s biggest year of sales globally and locally.

“This shows consumers understand the benefits of purchasing cars which provide technology that both enhances the driving experience, and offers the highest levels of passenger and pedestrian safety.

“Increasingly consumers are looking for greater technological benefits in their vehicles and Volvo is seen as an intelligent choice,” he says.
